I hate shopping at the best of times, but this coming weekend is our Thanksgiving. This seems to be a real problem for our store owners/managers, as this means there are 3 holidays fighting for each other! Luckily for them, the tried and true pumpkin can be carried over from the yummy pumkin pie for dinner, to the end of the month Halloween. We do that backwards though, because if your Thanksgiving is after Halloween, you can actually use the pumkin from your jack-o-lantern for your pie. We, on the other hand, would be screwed if we hoped our hollowed out pumkin isn't all shrivelled and miserable if we try to hold out for that 2 week time span. Of course, then we could pretend it is a shrunkin punkin head! hmmmmm..... So, on top of that dilema of those two holidays, they have been cramming Christmas on us as well. Lucky pumpkin pie, that actually can serve triple duty there. Too many holidays in too short a time, to many displays, too much marketing, really, pick a holiday, deal with it, move on to the next one. Quit shoving Christmas at me in October, it is bad enough that the cashiers have replaced the age old question of 'paper or plastic' with,, 'turkey or ham'. I don't really care what your eating for dinner tonight, or tomorrow night, so don't worry about what I will be eating on the weekend. No, I am not a bitch, I smile, I say I don't know, what ever my brother puts on the table, pay my bill, and head to the liquor store. Need to get rum for the soy eggnog that should hopefully be on the shelves soon. Yes, soy eggnog is gross, that is why it needs rum,, lol.

I don't like regular eggnog, never mind soy eggnog. And i hate when Christmas decoration are up before the Halloween stuff!! But, I am know hungry for pumpkin pie...I might go to the store, if I get motivation:)
I LOVE regular eggnog... unfortunately, I became allergic to eggs about 30 yrs ago :-( I, too, do not like to see Christmas stuff in the stores before Halloween. The rum/eggnog sounds delightful!
Amen, sister! I am not a fan of the holidays anyway, and when they make me look at Christmas stuff for four months from September until January, it makes me want to poke my eyes out.
Yep, Christmas in September truly is annoying. I prefer my holidays more low key, and I hate for retailers to tell me what they should be like.
